These satellite images were obtained from this site and a description is here. The Terra image is recorded at approx noon CDT and the Aqua image is approx 2 hrs later at 2pm CDT. A good view of the lake is typically only possible every few days due to cloud cover. This site gives a good indication of cloud cover for the day.
